Summit Hill Farm XC Jump @ Southern Pines Horse Trial II -   March 2010
Summit Hill Farm will be sponsoring a cross-country jump at the Southern Pines Horse Trial II at the Carolina Horse Park. We consider the course at the Park our “home course” since it’s nearest to us and we compete there most often. We are excited about the opportunity to support the Park and Southern Pines Horse Trial in this way. Come watch some of the best event riders in the country ride in this exciting, world-class competition on March 19th through 21st at the Carolina Horse Park in Raeford. (And come take a peak at our jump!) It’s definitely worth the drive! Dressage will be performed on Friday, cross country on Saturday and stadium jumping on Sunday. For more information and directions visit www.CarolinaHorsePark.com.

Summit Hill will be competing at Southern Pines Horse Trials I the weekend before on March 12th through 14th.

Summit Hill Farm Summer Jumper Series 2010
We will again be holding our annual Summer Jumper Series!
June 26th and August 21st (rain date on following Sundays)

Sponsored by M&M Tack Shop and Hendrick Cary Auto Mall, these fun, low-key shows are great for the green horse that’s just starting out and for the veteran practicing for the show season. Brightly colored jumps in our large, all-weather jumping arena make for great practice for the jumper and event horse alike. We also offer unjudged schooling time in our dressage arena for those who need to practice a test or with green horses. Casual show attire. Classes are $15. Sign up the day of the show. Spectators welcome too!

The show starts at 9am with a warm up class and classes start at 2'0" and go up to 3'6" (or higher upon request). Two courses at each jump height are offered. Ribbons awarded 1st through 6th and prizes courtesy of M&M Tack Shop and Hendrick Cary Auto Mall. M&M will also be on the grounds for your shopping convenience!

More details and prizelist to come!
Feel free to call or email with any questions. Hope to see you all there!

Results! Sporting Days Farm Horse Trial -       February 2010
Sporting Days in Aiken was a great first outing of 2010 for Team Summit Hill! It was a huge success bringing home lots of ribbons and we also had a ton of fun!

Nicole Thomas and Pilgrim du Barquet came in 4th place in their first ever beginner novice event together. It was very exciting!
Liza Bunce and Babazulu came home with a 6th place ribbon. Another great result from that team at the beginner novice level.
Ashley Beale and Texas Kahlua came in a very exciting 1st place in their Novice division.
Ashley Beale and On Center Stage came in 3rd place in her other Novice division. Go Ashley!
Ben Tursam and Mad Hatter came in a respectable 6th place in their Novice division.

We’re all looking forward to warmer weather and Southern Pines Horse Trial in March!

Results! Five Points Horse Trial -       September 2009
After the hot weather in Aiken at the last event, we welcomed the beautiful weather in Southern Pines for Five Points Horse Trials. Of course the Carolina Horse Park put on another wonderful event bringing in come of the top riders in the country. Team Summit Hill brought home some ribbons.

Ben Tursam and Truly Authentic came home with 3rd in their Open Novice division.
Ashley Beale and On Center Stage also did well. Bringing home 4th in their Novice division.

As a surprise to us Storm Chaser was awarded NCDCTA Prelim Horse of the Year winning a big beautiful ribbon and a lovely leather halter. Five Points was the 2009 NCDCTA Championships. Thanks NCDCTA and we are very proud of Twister! It was a great weekend overall.

Results! Full Gallop Farm Horse Trial -       August 2009
We had a great event dispite the steamy weather in Aiken in August!

Ben Tursam and Pilgrim du Barquet finished up in 2nd place in only Pilgrim's second Training!
Nicole Thomas and Top of the World also came home in 2nd in their Novice division on their dressage score of 29.0!

Storm Chaser was also a star in two out of the three phases. He had a silly runout at the second water. We are still proud of him though. :) Next we are off to Five Points in September. Hope to see you there!

Update! Summit Hill Farm Summer Jumper Show -       August 22nd 2009
The forecast for rain this past Saturday did not deter anyone from coming out to our final jumper show of the summer. We had a great turnout and a wonderful group of riders! We were lucky that the rain held out until after the show was over, but the clouds kept it on the "cool" side throughout! We were happy to see some familiar faces as well as some new ones.

We were also lucky enough to have M & M Tack Shop come out for our browsing and shopping conveniance. You can visit them online at http://mmtackshop.com/, or at their shop in Raleigh. The winners of each division also recieved a $25.00 gift card to M & M. Hendrick Cary Auto Mall also provided prizes and brought out some trucks and suvs for us to peruse through. We were also very pleased to have Ace Hot Dogs come to the show. They provided us with tasy hot dogs and snackas as well as refreshing beverages! They will be back for next years shows.

Once again I have to thank all of the compititors for making is such a great day. And of course I have to thank our volunteers, Kelly and Nicole, who stayed all day to make the show run smoothly.

We love putting on these shows and hope to see you all again next year! Have a great fall, winter, and spring!
